I didn’t fully understand this until I lived in Thailand.

Thailand Changed Me in Ways I Could Never Have Experienced in Canada

I lived alone in a two room penthouse apartment on New Petchburi Road in Bangkok, in a building called Best Apartments. It was humble, not flashy—but it became my sanctuary after I moved to Bangkok after the first month on Koh Phangan, an island off the eat coast. My new apartment became my next level portal of becoming.

Some weekends, I would walk a few blocks through winding alleys until I reached the klong —a canal used by locals to travel quickly through the city by water taxi. For just a few baht, I’d board one of those party boats and ride past homes built on stilts, pops and pans hung on fences, bright altars tucked in quiet corners, orange-robed monks stepping gently into the current of daily life.

By the time I arrived downtown, something in me had shifted. I wasn’t just in a different place—I was in a different frequency. A different world.

And I began to learn how to see the world with oracle eyes.

Rituals of Beauty, Solitude & Seeing

Every Saturday, I would take myself to the art museums. Alone. Not to be seen, but to see.

I wandered halls filled with ancient Thai sculptures, golden motifs, royal portraits and bold modern works. I learned the language of colour, of craftsmanship, of cultural reverence. And I saw the spiritual threads in everything—from temple rooftops to graffiti walls.
